After being selected to vie for the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film, the successful LUX Prize winner The Broken Circle Breakdown and LUX Prize selected The Great Beauty have now yet another race to compete in. Felix Van Groenigen’s and Paolo Sorrentino’s films have been nominated for the César for Best Foreign Language Film.

Both films will try to get the award by fighting against a rich selection of international features, such as Pablo Berger’s Blancanieves, Woody Allen’s Blue Jasmine, Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained, Alfonso Cuarón’s Gravity and Patrick Ridremont’s Dead Man Talking.

The César Awards, given out by the French Academy of Arts and Sciences of Film, are to be held on February 28, in a ceremony in Paris, with French actor François Cluzet as the host.
