The LUX Film Prize crosses the Atlantic

LuxFilm Prize 2018 winner

The European Parliament Liaison Office in Washington DC, in cooperation with the European-American Cultural Foundation, will host a special screening of the 2018 LUX Film Prize winner, Woman at War by Benedikt Erlingsson.

Erlingsson’s sophomore feature, an environmental and feminist tale about a woman who declares war on the aluminium industry in Iceland, competed with  Styx by Wolfgang Fischer and The Other Side of Everything by Mila Turajlic, within the 2018 Lux Prize Award Ceremony, which took place on 14 November at the European Parliament in Strasbourg. The three finalist films will keep travelling the continent during the LUX Film Days, with several screenings organized in different venues and festivals across the Member States, fostering debate and reflection on Europe and its future.

And once more  the LUX Film Prize will also cross the Atlantic in order to bring the winner film and its important topic to US audiences. The European Parliament LUX Film Night 2018 will take place on 6 December (18:30) at the Landmark E Street Cinema in Washington DC. This special screening of Woman at War will be preceded by an introduction by Antoine Ripoll, Director at the European Parliament Liaison Office in Washington DC.

Entrance is for free upon registration on a first-come, first-served basis.
